I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner having experience in both primary and secondary mental health settings. I am also a DBT and ACT practitioner. These settings involves working with people with depression and all the many different types of anxiety disorders, ranging from PTSD, Low Self Esteem and social anxiety. I also have experience facilitating group workshops and Webinars, which include DBT, Mindfulness, anxiety reduction and trauma stabilisation. I also supervise trainees within my role as a CBT therapist.
Within my therapy I also incorporate “the third wave of cognitive behaviour therapy” which includes approaches from Acceptance and Compassion Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. This is especially helpful with people who struggle with understanding their emotions and teaches ways to tolerate the distress they can cause.
My aim in therapy is to assist my clients in understanding their difficulties and, with the help of personal goals set in therapy, to reduce the distress these difficulties are causing and to change and gain strength and confidence again.
