I offer a safe confidential space to explore current psychological difficulties, whether these are short or long term problems. I have particular skills in non judgemental listening, developing a shared understanding of the development and maintenance of ongoing difficulties and how to improve them, breaking down resistance to change and promoting improvement using a variety of different interventions.
I have twenty years experience working for the NHS in mental health care; starting as a nursing assistant on an acute psychiatric ward, going on to complete a mental health nursing degree, and a masters in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.
I have been fortunate to apply these skills to a vast array of mental health disorders since, such as: addictions, psychosis, personality disorders, bi polar disorder, chronic depression, anxiety disorders, chronic low self-worth, adult ADHD, complex grief, PTSD, and obesity. Utilising a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as group work, psycho education, 1:1 psychotherapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
I have been solely responsible for managing the psychological needs of various patient groups; developing treatment packages, managing waiting lists, and providing the treatment.
I am down-to-earth, passionate and empathic, which previous patients have said made them feel listened to and cared about. My sensitive nature makes me naturally conscientious and reflective, which motivates me to want to understand people and continually improve.
I have future aspirations to make mental health education more accessible to all, particularly in schools and to the general public.
